These tea towels are made with 240 g white linen at a flax mill in Lithuania. The flax mill creates linen, like this kind, that meets the OEKO-TEX 100 Standard, meaning it's free from the top 100 most common toxic substances found in textiles. The linen is then shipped to Kurzeme, Latvia where our partners at Freedom61 are pioneering a sustainable women's sewing cooperative.
The woman who sewed these is named Diana and she was able to regain custody of her 4 year old son while having steady employment.
My husband designed these mid-mod illustrations and a friend screenprints them by hand in Central Texas!
Each one of them have empowered lives across the globe in ways we at The Simple Kind truly believe in. Each one is unique and may slightly vary. - Molly Hardwick, The Simple Kind
